Our Whirlwind Overnight Trip to Nashville: First Dan + Shay Concert and So Much More

Nashville has always been one of our favorite places to visit, but this trip was extra special. It was short and sweet, just an overnight stay, but it was packed with amazing food, fun adventures, and, most importantly, our very first Dan + Shay concert. Here’s a recap of everything we squeezed into 24 unforgettable hours in Music City.

Checking In: The Hutton Hotel

We started by checking into the Hutton Hotel, and let me tell you, we were thrilled to get a deal on a suite thanks to Hotel Tonight. The room was gorgeous, modern, cozy, and just what we needed to kick off our little getaway. We got settled in quickly because we had big plans for the night ahead.

Dinner Goals: The Stillery Downtown Nashville

First stop? Dinner at The Stillery, and wow, this place did not disappoint. We’re still dreaming about that Caesar salad, it was hands-down one of the best we’ve ever had. Then came the skillet mac and cheese, which was so creamy and comforting that we almost didn’t want to share (but we did). And the pizza? Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. If you’re ever in Nashville, do yourself a favor and eat here. You won’t regret it.

The Main Event: Dan + Shay at Bridgestone Arena

After dinner, it was time for the moment we’d been waiting for: our very first Dan + Shay concert! We grabbed some iced coffees from Dunkin’ to make sure we were caffeinated and ready to go because this was going to be a night to remember.

The concert was incredible, like, goosebumps-level incredible. This was their very first arena tour, which made it feel even more special. They’re so talented and humble, and you could just feel how much they love Nashville (and how much Nashville loves them). The energy in Bridgestone Arena was unmatched with everyone singing along, dancing, and just soaking it all in. We left feeling so inspired and thankful for the experience. There’s nothing quite like a concert that leaves you on such a high.

Breakfast Bliss: Mane & Rye

The next morning started with breakfast at Mane & Rye, which used to be located at the Hutton Hotel. We miss this spot so much, it had such a great vibe and even better food. Our spread included panna cotta (yes, for breakfast!), biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, English muffins… basically all the breakfast staples done right. It was the perfect way to fuel up for another busy day.

Giving Back: Supporting Nashville Tornado Relief

Nashville had recently been hit by a tornado disaster, so we made it a point to stop by a tent selling “I Believe In Nashville” shirts to support the relief efforts. It felt good to contribute in some small way to help this city that means so much to us.

Exploring Nashville: Farmers’ Market & Plant Babies

After breakfast, we headed over to the Nashville Farmers’ Market for some exploring. This place is always such a fun spot with its mix of local vendors and fresh finds. We couldn’t resist stopping by Gardens of Babylon Landscapes while we were there and we ended up leaving with some adorable new plant babies! (Because clearly, what our home needed was more plants.) Anyone else, relate!?

Dinner & Dessert: Pastaria Nashville + Jeni’s Ice Creams

For dinner that evening, we tried out Pastaria Nashville, and it did not disappoint. Their pasta dishes are incredibly delicious and everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. Afterward, we treated ourselves to dessert at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams because no trip is complete without ice cream! Their waffle cones are always such a treat.

A Sweet Send-Off: Five Daughters Donuts

Before heading home, we made one final stop at Five Daughters Bakery to grab some donuts for the road (and let’s be honest, for the week ahead). These donuts are seriously life-changing, soft, fluffy layers of perfection that make you want to savor every bite. We couldn’t resist bringing some home with us!

Wrapping It Up: A Trip to Remember

Even though it was just an overnight trip, Nashville packed so much into those 24 hours that it felt like a full vacation. From seeing Dan + Shay live (still can’t get over how amazing they were) to indulging in all the delicious food this city has to offer, it was truly a trip we’ll never forget.

Nashville always has this way of making us feel alive and inspired and already planning our next visit before we’ve even left! Until next time, Music City…
