Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you don’t plan. This week, we found ourselves on a whirlwind trip to Nashville, and it turned out to be one of those perfectly imperfect experiences that we’ll always remember. From sipping lattes at RH Courtyard to scoring the deal of a lifetime at West Elm, and even enjoying a late-night car picnic, this trip was full of little moments that made us smile.

Starting the Nashville Adventure
We kicked off our night shift trip with a stop at RH Courtyard Restaurant for lattes. If you’ve never been, it’s one of those places that feels like a little slice of luxury tucked away in the middle of your day. The courtyard is gorgeous, and sitting there with a warm latte in hand was the perfect way to set the tone for our spontaneous outing.

Shopping at Hill Center Green Hills
After fueling up on caffeine, we headed to Hill Center in Green Hills for some browsing. West Elm is always one of our favorite spots to wander through, there’s just something about their style that speaks to us (even if we’re mostly window shopping). But this time, we hit the jackpot.
Tucked away in the clearance section was the Emilia Media Console. It’s 80 inches of sleek perfection in the color haze, a soft, neutral shade that’s just dreamy. Guess what!? It was a final sale floor sample with a damaged door. But here’s the thing, it was heavily clearanced, and I knew Rich, my handyman, could fix it in no time. We couldn’t pass it up. It was meant to be!
We didn’t just buy a media console. We bought a little piece of Nashville for our living room!

Emmy Squared Late-Night Car Picnic Dinner
After all the excitement at West Elm, we were starving and decided to make a pit stop at Emmy Squared for dinner. If you’ve never tried their pizza, you’re missing out, it’s next-level Brooklyn good. Instead of dining in, we opted for a car picnic date (because why not?). We parked under the stars and enjoyed every bite from the comfort of our car. It was simple but so fun, and honestly, moments like these are what make trips memorable.

Quick Day Trip Back to Nashville
Two days later, we hopped back in the car for a quick day trip to pick up our beloved media console. It felt like déjà vu driving back to Nashville so soon, but we didn’t mind one bit. The Emilia Media Console was waiting for us, and bringing it home felt like completing the adventure.
Now it’s sitting proudly in our living room, a reminder of that spontaneous Nashville trip and all the joy we found along the way. Every time we look at it, we smile knowing it’s not just furniture, it’s part of our story now.

Reflection
We love browsing West Elm just for fun, it’s like treasure hunting without any expectations. But finding this console felt special, like it was meant to be ours. And while fixing up that damaged door will take a little attention (thanks again, Rich!), it makes us love it even more because it’s perfectly imperfect, just like this trip was.

Final Thoughts
If there’s one thing this adventure reminded us of, it’s that sometimes the best memories come from saying yes to spontaneity. Whether it’s a quick road trip or finding beauty in something that needs a little TLC, life has a way of surprising you when you least expect it.
Here’s to more spontaneous trips, car picnics under the stars, and finding treasures that bring stories into your home!
