A Nashville Birthday Weekend to Remember

You know those trips that just hit different? That’s exactly what our Nashville weekend was like when we celebrated Rich and his mom Roxanne’s birthdays. Let me tell you all about this perfect family getaway with Allen, Aiden, and me tagging along for the fun.

Starting Sweet at Golly G’s Ice Cream and Sweets

First stop? Golly G’s Ice Cream & Sweets in Pleasant View. Okay, starting a trip with ice cream might seem backward, but trust me…it was the best decision! We stumbled upon this cute little Hook and Ring Game on their patio, and before we knew it, we were all caught up in trying to land the perfect throw. It’s funny how these unexpected moments end up being some of the best memories.

Downtown Nashville Vibes

After our ice cream adventure, we headed to Fifth + Broadway, and I couldn’t resist getting some photos in front of those famous Nashville murals (because did you even go to Nashville if you didn’t take mural pics?). Assembly Food Hall was our lunch spot, and then we did the classic tourist thing. We were walking down Broadway. Sometimes being a tourist in Nashville is just what you need. It feels like our second home state anyway!

Brentwood Our Home Away From Home

Y’all, let me tell you about this hotel…the Hyatt House Brentwood/Cool Springs. It was something else! This was our first hotel stay with Aiden, which made it extra special. The sad part? It’s completely different now (I think a retirement home!?), but I’ll always remember it as one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. The room was incredible! There was a kitchen with an island, this cool rotating TV (fancy, right?), comfy sectional, and plenty of space for all of us.

Nashville Brentwood Birthday Surprise Time!

Here’s where the fun really kicked in. Aiden and I snuck off to Walmart for some birthday supplies. We went all out with a tablecloth, birthday plates, special glasses, and these cute birthday buttons. The look on Rich and Roxanne’s faces when they saw our impromptu hotel room party setup? Priceless! We topped it off with Cheesecake Factory takeout because what’s a birthday without cheesecake?

Southern Opry Mills Style Day Two

After fueling up with the hotel breakfast (always a good start!), we headed to Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen. We even got a photo with Paula… well, cardboard Paula, but hey, we’ll take it!

The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center Experience

The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center was next on our list, and wow…just wow. Did you know they have water from all around the world in their indoor waterways? How cool is that? We took this amazing boat ride through the hotel (yes, through the hotel!), and I couldn’t stop looking up at all the gorgeous architecture and greenery.

Five Points Pizza Perfect Ending

We wrapped up our Nashville adventure at Five Points Pizza, because ending a birthday celebration with great pizza is always a good call.

You know what makes a trip special? It’s not just the places you visit or the food you eat – it’s the people you’re with and the little moments you share. Watching Rich and Roxanne enjoy their birthday weekend, seeing Aiden experience these new places, and just being together as a family. That’s what made this Nashville trip one for the books.

And now, every time I think about Nashville, I’ll remember this perfect weekend of ice cream, surprise parties, indoor boats, and lots of family love. These are the moments that make all the planning and traveling worth it, don’t you think?
