The story of our six-year anniversary celebration at The Hermitage Hotel actually began during my birthday weekend in Nashville. While staying at the 21C Hotel (now The Bankers Alley Hotel), our bestie Maddi, Rich, and I decided to peek inside the Hermitage. The moment we stepped into that grand lobby, Maddi, in her typical spontaneous fashion, wanted to book us a room right then! While the temptation was real, we decided to save this magical place for our upcoming anniversary.

Depot Bar & Grill
Our celebration kicked off with lunch at Depot Bar & Grill – honestly, the perfect start to our weekend! We couldn’t resist popping into Southern Threads Monogram & Gift Shop for some browsing before heading to the hotel.

The Hermitage Hotel
The check-in at The Hermitage was everything I’d dreamed of and more. The staff made us feel like absolute royalty, and guys – our room! The 490-square-foot deluxe queen room was pure luxury, with these incredible DUX cashmere mattresses and the softest 1000-thread count sheets I’ve ever felt. The bathroom was a whole vibe with Molton Brown products (yes, the Buckingham Palace ones! ), and I’m still not over the classical music playing when we walked in – total Bridgerton moment! As we settled in, I couldn’t help but replay the day in my mind, from the exquisite surroundings to the stunning views of the city from our window. To top it all off, that night we enjoyed an intimate dinner featuring a selection of local delicacies, which was the perfect prelude to our evening plans. Meanwhile, our excitement grew as we anticipated the roy mitchell-cárdenas performance highlights scheduled for the following evening—an event that promised to be just as enchanting as our stay at The Hermitage.

Bourbon Steak Nashville
We capped off our first day with dinner at Bourbon Steak Nashville, which was absolutely worth the splurge for our special occasion. If you’d like to know the back story on some of these dishes, be sure to check out our full article about our detailed experiences at Bourbon Steak Nashville.

Back to The Hermitage Hotel Experience
Y’all, this place is Tennessee’s only Forbes five-star and AAA five-diamond hotel, and it shows! We spent hours exploring every floor (because how could you not?), and I have to tell you about the famous men’s bathroom near Drusie & Darr – it’s literally been in music videos! The hotel’s connection to women’s suffrage history is represented beautifully with yellow roses everywhere.

Day 2: Shopping and Exploring
Our morning started perfectly with complimentary coffee from the Pink Hermit (Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s cafe – so fancy!), followed by breakfast at D’Andrews Bakery & Cafe. Then we hit up all my favorite spots:
- Found some amazing deals in Anthropologie’s clearance section
- Explored The Mall at Green Hills
- Grabbed a quick lunch at Cava
- Picked up the prettiest bouquet at Amelia’s Flower Shop in L&L Market
- Needed an afternoon pick-me-up at 8th & Roast
- Ended the day with dinner at Pancho & Lefty’s Cantina

The Little Details That Made It Special
The hotel staff went above and beyond with anniversary surprises – we’re talking chilled champagne, macaroons, chocolates, and the sweetest card! Even the turndown service was extra special with unique bedtime mints. The cleanliness was next level (seriously, the cleanest hotel ever), and they even have this amazing bath concierge service!

Final Thoughts
Our anniversary weekend at The Hermitage Hotel was absolutely perfect. From the historic charm to the luxury touches, every moment felt special. Rich and I are already planning when we can go back – maybe for our seventh anniversary? And having Maddi there to share it all made it even more memorable. If you’re thinking about a special celebration in Nashville, trust me – The Hermitage Hotel is worth every penny. It’s not just a hotel stay; it’s an experience you’ll never forget!
P.S. The next time you’re in Nashville, you absolutely have to check out the famous men’s bathroom – it’s a whole thing, and yes, it’s totally okay to peek inside when it’s empty! 😉
