  • We’re Rich and Abigail Toy, a nurse and engineer who traded stethoscopes and circuit boards for maps and cameras, here to help you discover that travel magic isn’t just found in faraway lands, but hiding in plain sight on random Tuesdays.

    Explore This City was born from:

    • Our sacred “Avoid Highways” setting on Apple Maps that’s led us to countless small-town treasures

    • The conversations, sights, and music that fill our scenic routes with joy

    • A shared belief that travel memories should stick to your soul like marshmallows to a campfire stick

     

Our Story: From Stethoscopes to Sunsets

For ten years, we lived parallel lives of practicality: Abigail navigating hospital hallways with a compassionate touch, Rich solving engineering puzzles with mathematical precision. But every vacation, road trip, and stolen weekend revealed our shared superpower, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

The lightbulb moment struck when we realized how much we loved traveling together and we wanted to share our photos/videos and stories with others to encourage, help, and inspire. Nashville quickly became our second home (50+ trips and counting!), and we found ourselves collecting hidden gems like some people collect souvenirs.
